How to Get Your Uconnect Radio Code

Starting in 2012, many Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles came equipped with Uconnect radios featuring an anti-theft system. This system requires a unique four-digit code to unlock the radio if it’s disconnected from the vehicle’s battery or moved to another vehicle. This article explains how to obtain and enter your Uconnect Radio Code.

Understanding the Uconnect Radio Anti-Theft System

When installed, a Uconnect radio learns your vehicle’s unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). This pairing prevents the radio from being used in another vehicle without the correct Uconnect radio code. This security feature helps deter theft and protects your vehicle. The code is tied to both the radio’s serial number and the vehicle’s VIN.

Obtaining Your Uconnect Radio Code

Retrieving your Uconnect radio code is a straightforward process:

  1. Call the Uconnect Customer Support Line: Dial 1-800-448-0944. Support is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm Eastern Time.

  2. Provide Required Information: Be prepared to provide the following information to the customer service representative:

    • Your Dealership Code
    • Your Radio’s Serial Number
    • Your Vehicle’s VIN
  3. Receive Your Code: Once you’ve provided the necessary information, the representative will provide you with your four-digit Uconnect radio code. Keep this code in a safe place for future reference.

Entering Your Uconnect Radio Code

After obtaining your code, follow these steps to unlock your Uconnect radio:

  1. Turn the Ignition to the “Run” Position: This will power on the radio without starting the engine.

  2. Turn On the Radio: Press the ON/VOL control to power on the Uconnect system.

  3. Enter the Code: The radio display will show “CODE” or “Please enter Anti-Theft Code.” Use the preset buttons (1-6) on your radio to enter the four-digit code in the correct sequence. Each preset button corresponds to a number.

  4. Code Entry Errors: If you enter the wrong code three times consecutively, the radio will enter a “WAIT” state. The display will show “WAIT.” To exit this state, leave the ignition in the “Run” position for 30 continuous minutes. You can drive the vehicle during this time. After 30 minutes, the radio will display “CODE” again, allowing you to re-enter the code.

By following these steps, you can successfully retrieve and enter your Uconnect radio code to unlock your radio. Remember to keep your code in a secure location for future use.
