Celebrating the ECU Family of the Year: The Dildays

Each year, ECU recognizes an outstanding family with the Family of the Year Award. This award honors families who demonstrate exceptional support for their students and the university community. The 2024-2025 Family of the Year is the Dilday family, nominated by mother Koryn. Their deep connection to ECU spans generations, with both parents being ECU alumni and their daughters aspiring to continue the Pirate legacy.

Brian, the father, was Homecoming King and an active member of the ECU community. Koryn, the mother, was an ECU cheerleader and now, along with Brian, teaches at the same elementary school where they met. Their eldest daughter, Kayce, recently graduated from ECU, while their youngest daughter, Camryn, hopes to attend ECU and pursue a degree in Elementary Education. The Dilday’s passion for ECU is truly infectious, extending even to their youngest son, Bryson, and several exchange students they’ve hosted over the years.
