Cat 14 Pin Connector Pinout: Adapting Older Bobcat Attachments to Cat D-Series Skid Steers

This adapter allows you to use older 14-pin Bobcat attachments on newer Cat D-Series Skid Steer Loaders. Simply connect one end to your Cat loader and the other to your 14-pin attachment. Power on the machine and start working.

This adapter is designed for attachments with a 14-pin connector. It’s important to note that this adapter is not compatible with modern Bobcat 7-pin CAN-controlled attachments. For these newer attachments, a bypass harness is required. Use the selector guide linked below to determine the correct harness for your specific needs.

The Cat 14-pin connector outputs six switched ports if configured during ordering. Verify your machine has the necessary buttons to operate this adapter. This adapter includes eight installed pins: Up/Down, Left/Right, right stick Up/Down, Ground, and +12 Volts. Additionally, it provides an extra power port on pin K. Adapters for 2025 models have the K to P pin installed for dedicated switched power on the newer 255/265 machines. A hidden jumper, located inside the female connector and covered with shrink tubing, allows for High Flow hydraulics activation. Remove the shrink tubing and insert the jumper into pin K or N to enable this feature on your Cat machine. Confirm your machine’s configuration and control options before purchasing to ensure compatibility.
