Furthermore, some Stellantis vehicles might experience inoperable door windows, or even display an ‘error’ message on the odometer, requiring a factory scan tool or equivalent to correct.” These examples underscore the potential headaches that can be easily avoided with the right preventative measures.

Even some professional technicians may not readily have these tools on hand for every vehicle. Consequently, vehicle drivability might suffer noticeably until the ECM has had sufficient time and mileage to relearn these parameters. This relearning process can even impact emission readiness for inspection and maintenance (I/M) tests.

While it is often possible to resolve these issues after a battery disconnection without using a memory saver, it is undeniably more efficient and less time-consuming to prevent them altogether.
