Avtokomander: Installation, Usage, and Troubleshooting

Avtokomander is a powerful tool for reading, writing, and modifying vehicle ECUs. This guide provides a comprehensive overview of Avtokomander, covering installation, connection, software operation, and troubleshooting. Understanding these steps ensures safe and effective use of the device.

Connecting Avtokomander to the Vehicle

Important: Disconnect the ECU from the vehicle’s wiring harness before connecting Avtokomander. Removing all three connectors is crucial to prevent damage to the device.

  1. ECU Disconnection: Ensure all three connectors are detached from the ECU before proceeding. This safeguards Avtokomander from potential damage.

  2. Power Connection: Connect the Avtokomander power harness to the vehicle’s battery, ensuring correct polarity (red to positive, black to negative). Avtokomander features reverse polarity protection.

  3. ECU Connection: Connect the Avtokomander ECU connector to the designated “Vehicle” port on the ECU. The connector’s design ensures proper alignment and prevents incorrect connection.

  4. Laptop Connection: Connect Avtokomander to your laptop via USB and launch the Avtokomander software.

Avtokomander Software Installation

Installing the Avtokomander software involves two straightforward steps:

  1. USB Driver Installation: Begin by installing the necessary USB drivers to enable communication between Avtokomander and your computer.

  2. Software Installation: Proceed with installing the Avtokomander software application. Follow the on-screen prompts for a successful installation.

Avtokomander Software Operation

The Avtokomander software interface provides several key functions:

  • Cable: Establish a connection to the Avtokomander device via USB. Verify driver installation in Device Manager (Com Ports) if connection issues arise.

  • ECU: This section allows for ECU identification, reading data from the ECU, and writing data to the ECU.

  • File: Encrypt or decrypt ECU files. Files read from the ECU are automatically encrypted. This feature allows for secure file sharing using a built-in or custom password. Note: Decryption of automatically encrypted files is not possible.

  • Credits: Displays the number of available credits. Each credit permits operations on one ECU.

Reading and Writing ECU Data

  • Reading: To read data from the ECU, click “Read” under the ECU menu.

  • Writing: To write data to the ECU, select “Write” under the ECU menu, choose the desired file, and initiate the flashing process.

Troubleshooting and Support

When encountering issues or requiring technical assistance, provide the ECU ID and serial number. These can be copied by right-clicking on the respective fields within the software. This information helps expedite troubleshooting and ensures effective support. Always disconnect the Avtokomander from the vehicle and computer before seeking technical support.
