AutoAuth Login: Accessing FCA’s Secure Gateway Module with Autel

Autel diagnostic scan tablets have received certification from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to access the Secure Gateway Module (SGW) on 2017 and newer FCA vehicles. This access, granted through Autoauth Login, allows technicians to perform advanced diagnostics and bi-directional controls previously restricted by the SGW.

The SGW acts as a firewall, protecting vehicle networks and systems from unauthorized access. Implemented by FCA to enhance vehicle security, the SGW limits intrusive diagnostics to registered and authenticated users. Prior to this certification, tasks like clearing codes, calibrations, relearns, and actuations were blocked on FCA vehicles equipped with the SGW.

Autel tablet users can now bypass these restrictions via AutoAuth, a subscription-based authentication service. Shops can register for AutoAuth online for an annual fee, covering up to six users with options for adding more. After registering, shops can register their Autel tablets, with a limit of 100 devices. The necessary software update will be automatically pushed to all North American Autel tablets with active subscriptions. Users with expired subscriptions can renew their software and warranty through authorized Autel dealers via the Total Care Program.

AutoAuth provides a secure login portal for technicians to access the SGW. This registration process ensures that only authorized personnel can perform sensitive diagnostic procedures, maintaining the integrity of the vehicle’s systems. The AutoAuth system provides an extra layer of security, preventing unauthorized modifications that could potentially compromise vehicle safety and performance.

The SGW’s implementation across the FCA vehicle lineup started gradually in 2017. By 2020, nearly all FCA vehicles included the SGW, making AutoAuth login essential for comprehensive diagnostics. Autel’s certification and integration with AutoAuth ensures that technicians equipped with Autel tablets can continue to service and diagnose the growing number of FCA vehicles with the SGW. This capability is critical for performing necessary repairs and maintenance, keeping FCA vehicles operating safely and efficiently.

Accessing the SGW through AutoAuth login empowers technicians with the necessary tools to diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues. This access ensures that technicians can effectively address a wide range of problems, ultimately benefiting vehicle owners with improved service and maintenance.
