Understanding Your CareCredit Rewards Mastercard Program

Participating in the CareCredit Rewards Mastercard Rewards Program automatically enrolls you in these terms. By using your CareCredit Rewards Mastercard account, you agree to adhere to the rules and guidelines outlined below. This program is designed to reward you for your purchases, provided your account remains open and in good standing.

Eligibility and Participation

To fully benefit from the Rewards Program, you need to meet two key requirements:

  1. Make Eligible Purchases: Use your CareCredit Rewards Mastercard for everyday purchases to accumulate Reward Points. The more you use your card, the more points you earn, as detailed in these Terms.
  2. Redeem Reward Points: Once you’ve gathered a sufficient number of points, you can redeem them for various rewards.

Earning Reward Points on Purchases

For every dollar spent on Eligible Purchases using your CareCredit Rewards Mastercard, you will earn 1 Reward Point. This is often advertised as “1 Point” or “% Back”. Eligible Purchases include goods and services for personal, family, or household use, excluding credits, returns, and adjustments.

Point Calculation Example:

  • A purchase of $10.49 earns 10 points.
  • A purchase of $10.50 earns 11 points.

Points are calculated on the daily purchase total, rounded to the nearest whole dollar.

Transactions That Do Not Earn Reward Points:

  • Cash advances
  • Balance transfers
  • Finance charges
  • Fees

Bonus Points Opportunities

From time to time, you may have the chance to earn Bonus Points through special offers. These incentives can significantly boost your points balance.

Bonus Points in the CareCredit Provider Network:

To earn bonus points within the CareCredit Provider Network, ensure your purchase is processed correctly:

  • Transactions must be processed on a CareCredit terminal.
  • The provider must use a recognized and unique Bank Acquiring ID and Card Acceptor ID (BAID/CAID).
  • Alternatively, transactions can be made directly with CareCredit, such as through the CareCredit Direct tool or practice management software.

It’s important to note that Synchrony Bank is not responsible for the processing method used by the provider and does not assign or oversee BAID/CAID. If your transaction isn’t processed via a CareCredit terminal or directly with CareCredit using a recognized BAID/CAID, you will only earn the standard 1 Reward Point per dollar, not the advertised Bonus Points.

Bonus Points Based on Merchant Category Codes (MCC):

Some bonus point offers, including those within the CareCredit Provider Network and other retailers, are determined by the Merchant Category Code (MCC). MCCs are four-digit codes classifying a merchant’s primary business activity.

For example, if Bonus Points are offered for grocery purchases, buying groceries at a gas station (which typically has an MCC for gas stations) would not qualify for grocery bonus points. Synchrony Bank does not assign or manage MCCs.

Purchases made through third-party payment accounts or online marketplaces with multiple retailers typically do not qualify for Bonus Points.

Understanding the CareCredit Network

The CareCredit Network comprises:

  1. CareCredit Provider Network: Healthcare providers who are enrolled with CareCredit.
  2. CareCredit Merchant Network: A selection of retailers also partnered with CareCredit.

You can find participating providers and merchants through the Acceptance Locator at carecredit.com/mastercard or by calling 866-748-1585.

If you have questions about point allocation or believe there has been an error in your Reward Points calculation, please contact 866-748-1585 for assistance.

Key Points for Redemption:

  • A minimum number of Reward Points is required for redemption and may vary.
  • You must choose from the available redemption options at the time of redemption.
  • Your Reward Points balance will be automatically reduced by the redeemed amount.

Synchrony Bank reserves the right to modify rewards, point levels for rewards, earning rates, and eligible point levels over time.

All rewards are subject to availability and may be changed or discontinued without notice. If a reward becomes unavailable, you will be informed to choose an alternative.

Specific reward details, conditions, and limitations are provided at the time of redemption. By redeeming, you agree to these terms, which may include special conditions for travel rewards like blackout dates or restrictions. Travel and activity rewards are always subject to availability.

Be aware of potential third-party fees associated with reward redemption, especially for travel or merchandise. These fees, if applicable, will be charged to your card upon redemption. Always confirm fee amounts before finalizing your redemption. Fees are subject to change.

All redemptions are mailed to the billing address linked to your Account. Delivery times may vary. If an item arrives damaged or defective, you must report it within 10 days of receipt and return it within 30 days for a replacement or points reinstatement. Damaged items must be returned in their original packaging. Contact 855-483-3971 for return instructions.

Neither Mastercard nor Synchrony Bank is liable if a reward provider becomes bankrupt, ceases operations, or fails to fulfill obligations after you have redeemed points.

All redemptions are final; Reward Point credits will not be issued after redemption.

You cannot redeem points if your Account or Program participation is inactive or not in good standing. If you restore your account to good standing, you can then redeem your earned points.

Points Forfeiture and Important Conditions

It’s important to understand conditions related to your Reward Points:

  • Purchases paid by insurance do earn rewards, and spending on these items does not receive different reward rates compared to other eligible purchases.
  • You will forfeit all Reward Points if your Account is closed for any reason, including fraud or abuse, except if closed due to a lost or stolen card (in which case points transfer to a replacement account).
  • Unredeemed Reward Points expire 24 months (2 years) after being earned.
  • If your Account has a New York mailing address, you have 90 days post-account closure notification to redeem points, unless the closure was due to delinquency or fraud.

Only the primary cardholder can redeem points. Points cannot be combined from multiple accounts. Reward Points do not constitute cardholder property and are non-transferable, except as explicitly allowed by the Bank. This includes situations like death or legal matters.

Reward Points have no cash value and are purely promotional. Rights to points are only earned upon redemption according to these Terms.

If your Account use is terminated, Program participation also ends, and you will not be compensated for unredeemed points.

This Rewards Program is void where prohibited by law. You are responsible for any personal tax liabilities from Program participation.

Synchrony Bank, at its discretion, can change or terminate the Rewards Program at any time without notice, including adjusting point values or terminating accrued points. No points can be redeemed after Program termination.

No Warranty and Release of Liability

NO WARRANTY: Neither the Bank nor its affiliates warrant the Rewards Program or any related products or services, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY: You release the Bank and its affiliates from any liability related to your Program membership or these Terms, including any products or services associated with the program.

Complete Agreement

These Terms, along with your Credit Card Agreement (including governing law and dispute resolution sections), constitute the entire agreement regarding the Rewards Program.
