6.7 Cummins ECM: Lifetime Warranty and Return Policy

The 6.7 Cummins Ecm (Engine Control Module) comes with a lifetime warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship. This warranty ensures the longevity and reliability of your engine’s control system. However, it’s crucial to understand the specific terms and conditions of this warranty and the return policy for associated parts.

Understanding the Lifetime Warranty

The lifetime warranty on the 6.7 Cummins ECM is designed to protect you from faulty components. It covers the replacement of the ECM itself, but it explicitly excludes labor costs associated with installation, removal, key programming, or locksmith services. Buyers are responsible for these expenses. Furthermore, the seller’s liability is limited solely to the purchase price of the ECM.

Return Policy: Conditions and Requirements

Returns are accepted, but must adhere to specific guidelines. A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is mandatory for all returns. Without an RMA, the return will be considered unauthorized and will not be processed. Unauthorized returns will be held for a maximum of 45 days, after which the seller reserves the right to retain possession.

Before returning a 6.7 Cummins ECM, understand the following conditions:

  • Original Condition: The ECM must be returned in its original condition.
  • Inspection for Damage: All returned ECMs undergo thorough inspection for burnt components, physical damage, and water damage. Evidence of any of these will void the warranty.
  • Restocking Fee: A 20% restocking fee applies to all returns.
  • Programming and Key Fees: Programmed ECM returns incur an additional $85 non-refundable programming fee. If keys were purchased, a $90 non-refundable key fee also applies.
  • Time Limit for Money Back: Returns for a full refund must be initiated within 30 days of the receipt date. After 30 days, only exchanges or in-store credit are offered. In-store credit may be subject to return fees if the unit is deemed free of defects by the seller.
  • Testing of Faulty Units: The seller retains the right to require the buyer to return a potentially faulty ECM for testing at the buyer’s expense before a replacement is issued.

Warranty Voiding Conditions

Several conditions will void the lifetime warranty on your 6.7 Cummins ECM:

  • Evidence of Damage: Burnt components, physical damage, or water damage invalidate the warranty.
  • Misuse or Modification: Misuse, abuse, modifications, tampering, or using the ECM for unintended purposes will void the warranty.
  • Vehicle Collision: If the vehicle is involved in a collision, the warranty is voided.
  • Security Seal Tampering: Removing, breaking, or damaging the security seal will void the warranty.
  • Warranty Activation: The warranty must be activated within 20 days of receipt.

Additional Terms and Conditions

The seller is not responsible for any tariffs, taxes, or import carrier fees. Refusal of the package upon delivery will result in no refund. All transactions are subject to the laws of New York State, and any disputes will be handled in Nassau County, NY. The warranty is limited to a single claim.
